The Wynd — Glasgow's neighbourhood co-working spaces.

Last updated: 31 August 2026

We're The Wynd. We run co-working spaces across Glasgow — including our new West End spot on Otago Street. To do that well, we need to hold a bit of your data: your name, your contact details, maybe your billing info if you're a member. We keep it safe, we only use it for sensible reasons, and we never sell it on. This policy explains exactly how it all works, in plain English, in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

If you'd rather skip to a specific bit, here's what's covered:

  1. Who we are

  2. What we collect

  3. Why we collect it

  4. Who we share it with

  5. How long we keep it

  6. Your rights

  7. Cookies

  8. Keeping your data safe

1. Who we are

‍ The Wynd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

The Wynd is a trading business of 47 Commercial Limited. Registered address: 314 Battlefield Road, Company number: SC810824. Contact: hello@thewynd.co.uk

‍ ‍If you're a member of one of our spaces, we're responsible for your data whether you joined online, in person, or via our upcoming Otago Street location.

2. What we collect

‍ We only ask for what we actually need. Depending on how you interact with us, that might include:‍

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number

  • Account & membership info — billing address, payment details (processed securely by our payment provider — we don't store full card numbers), membership tier, booking history

  • Enquiry details — anything you tell us via a contact form, early access sign-up, or waitlist

  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device info, and how you use our website (via cookies — see Section 7)

  • Marketing preferences — whether you've opted in to hear from us

‍We don't knowingly collect special category data (health, race, religion, etc.) unless you volunteer it to us — for example, an accessibility requirement for a booking.

3. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

‍ ‍We only process your data where we have a proper legal basis to do so:

How we use your data
What we do Why Lawful basis
Manage your membership or booking To provide the service you've signed up for Contract
Respond to enquiries To help you, or answer your questions Contract Legitimate interest
Send you marketing (e.g. Otago Street launch updates) Only if you've opted in Consent
Improve our website and spaces To understand how people use them Legitimate interest
Keep financial records Because the law requires it Legal obligation

You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time — every email has an unsubscribe link, no hard feelings.

‍ ‍

4. Who we share it with

‍We're not in the business of handing your data around. We only share it with:

  • Service providers who help us run things — payment processors, booking software, email platforms — all under contracts that keep your data protected

  • Professional advisors — accountants, lawyers — where necessary

  • Authorities — if we're legally required to (e.g. HMRC, law enforcement)

We do not sell your personal data.

If any provider stores or processes data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards (like Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

‍ ‍

5. How long we keep it

‍ We keep your data only as long as we need it:

  • Membership & billing records — for the duration of your membership plus 6 years (for tax/accounting purposes)

  • Enquiry & waitlist data — up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it

  • Marketing data — until you unsubscribe or we've had no engagement from you for a while

After that, we delete or anonymise it.

‍ ‍

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you

  • Correct anything that is inaccurate

  • Delete your data (subject to legal exceptions)

  • Restrict or object to how we use it

  • Port your data to another provider

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis

To use any of these, email us at hello@the-wynd.co.uk. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to keep things running smoothly and to understand how people use it. This typically includes:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site to function (can't be switched off)

  • Analytics cookies — help us see how visitors use the site, so we can improve it

  • Marketing cookies — only set if you consent, used for relevant ads or tracking sign-ups

You can manage or withdraw cookie consent at any time via your browser settings or our cookie banner.

‍ ‍

8. Keeping your data safe

‍ ‍We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — secure servers, encrypted payment processing, access controls — to protect your data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No system is 100% bulletproof, but we take this seriously and review it regularly.

9. Changes to this policy

‍ We'll update this page if anything changes — new services, new locations, new legal requirements. We'll note the date at the top so you can see when it was last revised.

10. Get in touch

‍ If you have questions about your data, or this policy, please send us a message via email to hello@the-wynd.co.uk.
